New Year’s Mountain Resolutions

January 18th, 2018 by Staff

365 new days, 365 new chances! High Hampton Resort will open its doors in April for its 96th season, and we invite you to fulfill your New Year’s hopes and dreams while creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Learn how you can keep your resolutions this year at High Hampton Resort:

  1. Spend more time outdoors: High Hampton Resort offers many outdoor activities that will appeal to every member of your family! An afternoon swim in the 35-acre Hampton Lake or an evening hike on one of eight hiking trails is a great way to get in shape and spend time with your loved ones.

  1. Unplug and unwind: Beautiful scenery and amazing outdoor activities encourage families to unwind and reconnect on a more personal level. Television is not offered in the rooms, so get ready for board games, stargazing, reading and talking with the ones you love.

  1. Make a new friend: Make a new friend of the fury variety. Visit High Hampton Resort’s resident donkeys Fred and Ed, get close and personal with magnificent birds of prey through the Falconry Program and be sure to ask about High Hampton’s famous llama hikes! Hikes are offered Thursdays at 4 p.m. and on Saturday 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

  1. Reconnect with your family over shared meals: Meals at High Hampton Resort are much more than just dining, they are a personalized experience. High Hampton’s traditional dining hall serves delicious Southern cuisine that is guaranteed to please every member of the family. The strict no phone at the table rule allows for families to enjoy their loved ones’ company and reconnect over a tasty meal.

  1. Let go of the past year: Take some time to write in your journal while sitting next to the Hampton Lake at sunset. Wake up at sunrise and try out meditation for the first time at the peak of Chimney Top Mountain. This year is all about you!

  1. Keep your loved ones close: Take advantage of all the family-oriented activities offered at the resort by hosting a family reunion at High Hampton. Plan a special dinner at the beautiful Laurel Garden, enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn, sip on afternoon tea in the lobby, and listen to live music at Rock Mountain Tavern. Make new memories and let go of past resentments.

Take in the crisp mountain air, reset your mind, let go of negative energy and make your 2018 the best year to date with a stay at High Hampton Resort. High Hampton Resort reopens for the 96th season in April.
