June 19th, 2017 by Staff

The kids are out of school, summer is right around the corner and things are heating up at High Hampton Inn! A summer stay on our stunning mountain property is just the ticket to an unforgettable family vacation. Our impressive array of amenities, expansive grounds and one-of-a-kind activities make our mountain resort a top spot for a little fun in the sun.

Our guests can enjoy clay tennis courts and mountainside golf, or lace up their hiking boots and head out on some of our property’s more than 15 miles of hiking trails. No matter the activity, guests are sure to score scenic views and make plenty of family mountain memories.

In addition to temperatures averaging 10 to 15 degrees cooler than in lower lying regions, guests can beat the heat with some time at our privately owned, 35-acre Hampton Lake. Kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming are just a few of the ways to make a splash this summer.

High Hampton Inn also offers guests unique experiences such as special llama hikes and the popular falconry program. The llamas venture out on their weekly walks every Thursday and Saturday lead by High Hampton Inn’s llama wrangler Mark English. Following an afternoon llama adventure, be sure to say hello to Fred and Ed, the two resident donkeys of High Hampton Inn.

With all the fun in the sun you’ll be having, be sure to schedule some time to experience all of High Hampton Inn’s impressive amenities. Visit the spa, enjoy signature Southern dining, plan a picnic, play some lawn games and more! Guests can also head over to the Rock Mountain Tavern for drinks and live music. Summer is truly an exciting season at High Hampton Inn and we look forward to hosting you and your family soon.

Fun for the whole family is our specialty, no matter the season. Visit https://www.highhamptoninn.com/ for more information on ways to stay and save with a family mountain getaway to High Hampton Inn or call 800-334-2551.

Four Reasons to Celebrate the Fourth of July at High Hampton Inn

July 1st, 2016 by Staff

We have become famous for our festive house parties over the years, and our Fourth of July celebration is the biggest of them all! Here are four reasons to celebrate our nation’s birthday at one of America’s historic inns!

July 4th Picnic

1. Feast

Barbecue, watermelon, s’mores, oh my!

In classic, High Hampton Inn style, our lawn will be transformed into an outdoor picnic complete with a patriotic feast. Our chefs will prepare Southern-style ribs, watermelon, mac & cheese and more. Finish your feast by roasting marshmallows around the bonfire — the perfect recipe for a classic all-American summer barbecue!

2. Festivities

Family-Friendly fun and entertainment!

Our guests know there is never a lack of activities available at High Hampton Inn, and our Fourth of July picnic is no exception. While the sun is out, take a splash in Hampton Lake with private docks and non-motorized boats, the lake is a summer staple for all of our guests. As the sun sets, dance to live entertainment, challenge your family and friends to lawn games and relax surrounded by the serene mountains.

3. Freedom From Responsibilities

Let freedom ring!

At High Hampton Inn, we recognize that life can be stressful. Our resort is tucked away 1,400 acres back in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, making it is easy to get lost in the beauty and wonder of nature. This summer, families looking for a respite from the everyday will find solace in the tranquility of the Resort. You can be free from your busy schedule and spend the weekend relaxing among friends and family.

4. Family History

A celebration at High Hampton Inn is a celebration of American history.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Inn’s doors have been open to guests since 1922. Over the years, High Hampton Inn has undergone updates and renovations, all while still retaining the classic Southern charm guests have come to love. Adding to the High Hampton Inn legacy, the Inn was also selected as a filming location for the upcoming Dirty Dancing remake. With its rich American history, join us at High Hampton Inn to celebrate our nation’s birthday.

Be sure to put our Independence Day Picnic on your calendar. For more information on High Hampton Inn’s summer events, please visit https://www.highhamptoninn.com/events.aspx.
